On April 25, 2013, at around 9:20 pm, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) aircarft, which just took off to a routine mission, spotted a pinkish to reddish light in the air above the Atlantic Ocean, that was moving towards Rafael Hernandez airport, at Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The crew of the DHC-8 Turboprop aircraft consisted of four individuals, one of them operating a thermal image camera system.
The pilot of that aircraft contacted the control tower of Rafael Hernandez airport which confirmed that they had a visual sighting of the light but did not know its identity. As the object approached shore, its light went out and the pilot requested monitoring of the object with the on-board surveillance equipment.
The object then was captured on video in infrared mode (black hot) and tracked while flying across Rafael Hernandez airport airspace two times, before returning to the Atlantic Ocean where it appeared to submerge, re-emerge, and seemingly split into two objects.
According to a report by the Scientific Coalition for UFOlogy or respectively the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) issued on August 10, 2015, a "verified and identified" source provided SCU with an "original copy" of a "thermal video" showing an "unknown" flying object.
It was purportedly taken by a military-like thermal imaging system (infrared mode, black hot), seemingly a L3Harris WESCAM MX-15 EO/IR system onbord a DHC-8 Turboprop aircarft of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a branch of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The video is said to beeing captured on April 25, 2013 and to beeing provided to SCU on October 20, 2013.
The source and witness(es)
SCU considers the source who provided the video not to be a direct witness but a "secondary witness" beeing an "acquaintance of the direct witness(s)". SCU considers the pilot and crew of the DHC-8 Turboprop aircraft to be "primary witness(s)".
The source has been interviewed by SCU and provided with questionnaires that the source has aledgedly also passed through to the direct witness and ultimately returned to SCU.
